What is the Geek Ultimate Recycling Program (GURP)? GURP is our program to help save the environment from all of the nasty chemicals that are in our everyday gadgets. Our landfills can not bear the amounts of hazardous chemicals that are currently being put into them. So we created GURP to help reduce the electronic equipment that is finding it's way to our landfills. What do we do with all the stuff we get? Well, the cell phones make their way to Eco-cell where they are recycled to places where most people cannot afford to buy the new whiz-bang cell phones. The computers are torn down into the smallest components, all of the circuit boards are sent to have the components stripped off and the board crushed, the hard drives are torn down and processed, the cases are separated into metal and plastic parts. Then all of the parts are recycled into new parts. Overall, about 99% of the materials are used to manufacture new parts. At this time we are unable to take Televisions or CRT Monitors. Where does all this stuff go? I think most people have seen the articles or TV segments about how some irresponsible companies are handling these hazardous materials. Most of these show how the materials go to countries where they do not have the environmental laws to keep these materials from being piled up and burned releasing the toxic chemicals into the atmosphere for everyone to breath. We however, do our best to make sure that the material are going to companies that will re-use the materials in accordance with environmental laws. We work with companies that are ISO 14001 certified and have been licensed by the EPA to handle the materials in question. The majority of the materials are processed in the US, while some materials are shipped overseas for re-manufacture. GURP serves the Las Vegas, Nevada area with FREE pickup of your electronic equipment. Contact us to schedule a FREE pickup. ===================== We thank everyone for the interest in helping the environment. Due to the overwhelming response we have reached our maximum capacity in our storage/processing yard and are unable to take any further electronics until the beginning of 2010. Thank you for your continued support, please continue to check back with us for updates. ===================== |

Well, it's finally over. One of the most dismal shopping seasons in many years has come to a close (except for those pesky after-sales). The biggest sellers this season? Electronics. While it is great that people got new gadgets, TV's, and game consoles to play with, what do you do with all of the old stuff? The new buzz words are 'Reverse Logistics' or recycling. While not so simple in some places, in Las Vegas all you need to do is give GURP (Geek Ultimate Recycling Program) a call 433-GEEK (4335) or request a pickup on the site. We will come get it for free! What types of electronics do we take? Here is a sample: - Monitors (CRT/LCD)
- PC Systems
- Notebooks
- Computer Servers
- Networking Equipment
- Printers/Copy/Fax Machines
- Scanners
| - Computer Components and Peripherals
- Digital Cameras/Digital Camcorders
- UPS
- VCR/VCD/DVD Players
- MP3 Players
- PDA's
- Cell phones/Phones
| Now's the time to get rid of your old electronic stuff, while making sure that the enviroment is safe! |

We are geeks who are concerned about our environment. So, we started the Geek Ultimate Recycling Program (just one of the Geek Ultimate programs run by Geek Internet Development, LLP.) to help save the world. What can you expect from us? Well, we spend many hours collecting old electronics from people who are also desiring to make a difference in their world. We take the time to sort through it all, and then ship it off to processors for reclaimation. Reclaimation? Yes, reclaimation is the process of re-claiming the materials for use in other products. The majority of electronic parts and assemblies can be recycled and re-used in new products. So what can you do? Instead of putting those old electronic items in the trash, give us a call and we will pick it up for free! Contact us @ (702) 433-GEEK (4335) or
